The Position of City Information Security Officer

The City of San José Information Technology Department is seeking an experienced City Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead cybersecurity initiatives across the City. The CISO will be responsible for directing the Cybersecurity Office, managing risk, incident response, and compliance to ensure business resilience. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring the Cybersecurity team, collaborating with business units and stakeholders, developing cybersecurity strategic plans, providing expert guidance on regulations and standards, and overseeing incident management and response processes. The ideal candidate for this position should possess expertise in managing technology services, cybersecurity regulations, frameworks, threat and vulnerability management, encryption, crisis management, identity and access management, cloud security, network security, and business continuity planning.
