Before delving into the SOP of Heart Center of Southern Maryland, let's address some FAQs to better understand the process. A cardiologist specializes in heart and blood vessel issues, diagnosing conditions like heart disease and managing heart health. Patients with cardiac disorders should be referred to a cardiologist for specialized care. Cardiologists diagnose heart problems, prescribe treatment, run tests, manage ongoing care, and provide advice on preventing heart issues. Signs to see a cardiologist include chest pain, shortness of breath, and high blood pressure. During the first visit, a cardiologist reviews medical history, conducts exams, and may order diagnostic tests to create a treatment plan. The Heart Center of Southern Maryland comprises three doctors offering cardiac services at different locations.
Patient Scheduling
The primary activity at the center is patient scheduling, involving new and return patient scheduling. New patients visit for the first time, while return patients come for regular evaluations or subsequent visits within three years. Patients visit for symptoms related to cardiac issues, health check-ups, or prescribed tests. Scheduling is done through the front desk number to secure a specific appointment time, ensuring a smooth visit without overlapping with other patients. The system checks the doctor's availability and allocates time slots for consultations and tests. If preferred slots are unavailable, alternatives are provided. The process involves using specific working extensions for scheduling tasks and following outlined steps to initiate cardiology scheduling efficiently.

To begin scheduling, it is essential to log in to the internal tool using the provided credentials. Accessing the Medical Billing client to mark attendance is crucial before commencing daily tasks. After logging in, navigate to the scheduling dashboard to record call data and fill out the scheduling form with necessary details for each appointment. The form includes location details, phone numbers, and various call type options to select as per requirements.
