Chris Hoare Cup 2024

20th Anniversary Celebration

Chris Hoare, an alumnus of Bulahdelah Central School, is celebrated for his achievements in sports, particularly rugby league, during his time at the school. The Chris Hoare Cup was established as an interschool Rugby League competition to honor his legacy, with the inaugural match played in 2004.

Over the years, the competition has expanded to include various sports such as soccer, netball, touch football, and league tag, fostering a healthy rivalry between Bulahdelah Central School and Gloucester High School. Students and alumni express pride and joy in participating in and witnessing the Chris Hoare Cup, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and community that the event embodies.

The 2024 Chris Hoare Cup Open Rugby League team is led by former student and professional rugby league player Tim Browne as the coach, with Toby Wilton as the captain. The event continues to be a significant and cherished tradition that brings together the school and local community in friendly competition and celebration of sports.
