Rahul Gandhi Pays Tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra paid tributes to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 60th death anniversary. Nehru is remembered as the architect of modern India and for his dedication to building the nation through the freedom movement and establishing democracy. He is also praised for his role in laying the foundation of the Constitution.

Cyclone Remal Hits Aizawl, Mizoram

Cyclone Remal claimed the lives of 27 people in Aizawl, Mizoram, with search and rescue operations ongoing. Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced a State Disaster Relief Fund of over Rs 15 crore and ex-gratia for the deceased. Power and water supply have been affected due to damages caused by the cyclone, with relief efforts underway.

Sixth Phase of Lok Sabha Elections

The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections witnessed an approximate voter turnout of 61.20% for 58 parliamentary constituencies. West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout, followed by Odisha, Jharkhand, and other states. Over 11.13 crore voters were eligible to cast their votes in this phase, with results expected to be declared on June 4.
