Alive from the Dead

Dhyuti Mariam Geevarughese It was Sunday morning. Everything was still and quiet. Suddenly, the ground shook, and an angel came and rolled away the stone that covered the tomb. The guards were terrified and ran away when they saw this. Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James, came to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body with spices. They were astonished to find the grave open, and the body was no longer there. 1 Little Light

The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid. I know you are

looking for Jesus. He is alive—risen from the dead!” Mary Magdalene couldn’t understand what had just happened. Then she saw a man whom she thought was the gardener. She asked him, “If you have taken him away, please tell me where I can find him.” She didn’t realize she was speaking to Jesus himself. Jesus called out to her, “Mary.” At once, she realized it was Jesus. She was overjoyed to see Him again. “Tell my friends you have seen me,” Jesus said. “ 2 Little Light
