The 2024 Focus on Africa Global Seminar offers an optional Zanzibar Extension from August 24 to 28, 2024. The program is designed by The AFRICAN CONNECTIONS Research and Education Fund, Inc. (ACREF) in collaboration with The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK).

Local Program Facilitator and Accommodation

EDU Africa is the primary program designer and local facilitator for the seminar. The program includes a visit to Stone Town in Zanzibar, featuring historical sites such as the former slave market and the Old Fort. Accommodation is provided at Maru Maru Hotel in Stone Town and Amaan Bungalows in Nungwi.

Activities in Zanzibar

Participants can enjoy activities such as a walking tour of Stone Town, a visit to Prison Island to see giant tortoises, and a tour of a spice farm to learn about Zanzibar's history as a spice island.
