Keong Saik Rd The Keong Saik Road project is situated on a narrow, elongated site alongside historical shophouses, within a lively area known for its trendy F&B establishments at night, as well as creative offices and boutique hotels. My site proposal envisions a residential space designed specifically for creatives, providing a conducive and productive environment for their work. The design prioritizes privacy while ensuring ample natural light and ventilation. Inspired by the concept of progression, the spatial organization follows a layered approach, symbolizing the way professionals advance through different levels in their careers. With only Autocad as the software I was able to use back then. I utilised Autocad and Photoshop to make the design. Not knowing any 3d softwares, I improvised by using building computer games to visualise my project.
NACLI The National Community Leadership Institute (NACLI) offers a variety of leadership development programs aimed at equipping grassroots leaders and PA professional staff with essential skills and practical knowledge to effectively contribute to their communities. It is located around rich natural landscapes, cultural landmarks, and educational, research facilities. offering diverse and enriching environment. My design aim to create flexible spaces for work, learning, relaxation, and social interaction, with centralized collaborative areas fostering connections. Biophilic elements enhance well-being by reducing stress and integrating nature. A dynamic, asymmetrical layout promotes fluid movement, while distinct contrasts define functional areas. I used Autocad, Photoshop, and 3d max to create render floorplans and 3d renders. Unfamiliar to 3d max as I had just learnt how to use it but I adapted to it very quickly and was able to add it to my submission presentation board before the submission date.
93 Jalan Dua Jalan Dua 93 is an old residential block located in a family-friendly area, with schools close by. Residents have access to supermarkets, as well as healthcare services. The site is well-connected and equipped with essential services, making it a convenient and comfortable. The design aims to create this residential space to a homeless shelter on the first floor. Adaptable spaces that support work, learning, relaxation, and social interaction. Centralized collaborative areas will encourage users to gather and connect. By integrating biophilic elements from the surroundings, the space promotes wellbeing and reduces stress. The layout prioritizes the concept of flexibility, breaking rigid structures with dynamic asymmetrical compositions that enhance movement and fluid interaction. Additionally, distinct contrasts between functional areas define and enrich spatial experience. I tried something new by creating 2d renders as renders through photoshop.
TWCC Tampines West Community Club (CC) is a vibrant community hub, offering a diverse range of classes and activities designed to engage residents and foster community spirit. Additionally, it serves as a venue for community events and gatherings, strengthening bonds among residents. The area includes shopping malls, supermarkets, and markets, along with nearby educational institutions. It is also surrounded by green spaces providing recreational opportunities for residents. Our GROUP design was inspired by the informal yet effective arrangement of communal spaces in a traditional kampung. It aims to transform the underutilised zones of the community club into interactive pods which are strategically placed and designed to adapt to the changing needs of the community and its club, creating a dynamic and engaing environment.
Old Kallang Airport Old Kallang Airport was Singapore’s first purpose-built international airport, located along the eastern shore of Kallang Basin. In a dynamic area with a mix of commercial, residential, and recreational spaces. Using this as a factor in designing the purpose of the space. The project transforms a cultural landmark into an inclusive, eco-conscious space that celebrates musical talent and supports the music industry through F&B offerings. The design incorporates smooth curves and lines, prioritizing sustainability, biophilic elements, and efficient spatial flow. It aims to preserve the site’s historical significance while promoting a sustainable future. With the concept of circulation hierarchy of curves and volume.
