FORWARD Corporate Social Responsibility at JK Lakshmi Cements has been a purpose and practice since its inception several decades ago. Harmonious co-existence with its communities and contributing towards their economic and social well-being has been a regular practice at the company. Therefore, the company was engaged in social welfare activities at their plant locations before the introduction of Rules in the Companies Act related to CSR. With the introduction of CSR Rules, the initiatives have been structured better and have been implemented across the plant locations systematically through a dedicated and experienced CSR team governed by the CSR committee of the Board of the company. Over the years, the company has positively impacted the lives of lakhs of people in different plant locations and its product value chain through initiatives in Health, Water and Sanitation, Education, Livelihoods and Skills Development and Rural Development. Standing on this solid foundation, the company intends to develop a road map for its CSR for 2030, aligned with the changing expectations from different stakeholders, the growth goals of the company, its redefined purpose, vision, mission and values and the changing macro trends influencing the CSR and cement industry such as ESG, Sustainability, the advent of technology and responsible consumerism. The document captures the processes and outputs of developing the CSR Road Map for JKLC while restating its Vision and Mission, achieved through a consultative and participatory approach. Page 4

Message from the Vice Chairman & Managing Director Smt. Vinita Singhania At JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. we strongly believe that a sustainable business organisation has to continuously contribute to the improvement of the triple bottom line i.e., Planet, Profit & People. The guiding principle for Company’s sustainability is ingrained in the belief that for a shared and sustainable future we must build a foundation of compassion, responsiveness and inclusivity that strengthens not only our organisation but also creates positive environmental and social impacts. As they say, “Change is the only constant”, we at JK Lakshmi Cement have renewed our Company’s Vision & Mission and have adopted a new purpose statement. This CSR Strategic Roadmap is aligned to the Company’s new vision, mission and business goals & ambitions. I want to congratulate the CSR team for demonstrating proactive leadership for developing this strategic CSR Roadmap. Page 6
As a Company, we have sincerely worked towards improving marginalised populations’ lives and livelihoods. Through our efforts, we have directly benefited more than 2 lakh people through various initiatives in Education, Health, Livelihood, Skilling, Rural Development, Water, & Sanitation. And we intend to strengthen our commitment towards that mission. One of the key expectations from the CSR team would be to build sustainable social capital - trust and relationship with the local community and stakeholders so that our business peacefully co-exists with its communities. The CSR journey of a company is also one of change and transformation. We are slowly moving from a philanthropic approach to a strategic one, focusing on bringing sustainable impacts to communities. Efficiency and effectiveness of our projects will become the corner of this transformation, with result measurement at its core. We also live in a time where environmental sustainability and climate change cannot be ignored. Our plant locations and nearby communities are facing impacts from climate change. In this context, our CSR also has to look into the issues related to environmental sustainability, conservation of natural resources, water conservation, quality of soil maintenance, protection of flora, issues related to ecological balance, etc. CSR law Schedule -VII also lists “environmental sustainability” as one of the priority areas. And, throughout this process, as always, we would uphold our integrity and the highest standards of ethics and governance in our work. The strategies co-created by the CSR team in consultation with the business and other stakeholders will help generate positive and measurable results for our communities and enhance our efforts to be a good corporate citizen.
