INTRODUCTION AND CONTENTS

Cultural Heritage Awareness for Netizen Communication in Europe (CHANCE) is the chosen title of the project since it summarises the primary aims: Developing participants’ social and intercultural skills through raising awareness of European cultural heritage with the help of new technologies and innovative approaches such as cross-curricular projects of multiple subjects and a much-needed debate programme to enhance students’ argumentative and formal language skills. This booklet therefore is a collection of • • • • Teacher training materials (93 pages) Debate programme materials (25 pages) Cultural heritage materials (except for the Project Newsletter materials that can be found on the project website) o Geography: geographical features, UNESCO heritage sites o Literature: local author interviews, national authors, folk tales o History: myths and legends, events and festivals, historical timelines o Architecture: UNESCO heritage sites o Arts and Crafts: games, artists o Gastronomy: Christmas recipes Cross-curricular materials produced during the two years of the project. These materials include presentations, worksheets, lesson plans and texts that either can be used in the classroom or may provide input materials for classroom activities.
