Assessment refers to the effective learning method that can improve the education and learning of an individual. According to Adri (2023), assessment involves constructing a comprehensive understanding of a child’s progress or assessment in learning throughout the Primary School Curriculum. Assessment techniques are required for getting an accurate evaluation of students’ progress and it is as crucial as creating the curriculum. The formal and informal assessments serve multiple purposes, and they can be served in designed and administered tests. DSKP is derived from the Curriculum Framework (CF) which includes what is to be taught and learnt for an academic year. The syllabus consists of vocabulary, themes, language skills, grammar and language functions. 2.0 TABLE OF SPECIFICATION For Year 1 pupils, the assessment of learning was created using the English Language Curriculum for Primary School or Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah (KSSR). The designing questions are based on Unit 3 of the Supermind Textbook on the topic of “Pet Show” and focused on the learning of animals’ vocabulary and prepositions. The multiple-choice question consists of three levels of low, medium and high-order thinking skills to test pupils’ understanding. On the other hand, the total marks awarded for these questions are 20 marks based on the answers scheme. The marks given to each of the questions are 2 marks respectively. The assessment was also created by using the robust framework of Malaysia MADANI in the context of “Innovation”. Thus, the assessment tests were designed and used using Quizizz. The digital assessment created also aligns with the Content Standard (CS) and Learning Standard (LS) under the main skill of reading. The sample of items is included in the Appendix section.
