Lios Mór The Great Ring-Fort discoverlismore.com “Where the blue sky bends over all” Immrama Travel Writing Festival, lismore-immrama.com Ms Margaret Connolly “I love the people. Lismore is a stone’s throw from the beaches. I love the castle gardens at summer. It’s wonderful to sit out, have a coffee, a fag, watch the world go by.” Helena Connolly
growing up with stories of leprechauns & fairies. There’s so much here undiscovered, there’s so much potential. The Magic begins once you cross the bridge.” Caroline Ní Fhaoláin (Whelan), Lismore Sunset from the bridge Ballyanchor Rd garden The playground next to the Millennium Park “Having lived in Lismore my whole life is truly a blessing. The beautiful change in scenery each season provides a new perspective of this place. The calm breeze drifting through the town & friendly faces make this place home.” Thomas Leary - 16 -
Over the Bridge from Lismore Castle, between the R666 and R668 roads, lies the mighty Owennashad River, Woods & Walk (Abha na Sead); home to the town’s beloved learn-to-swim spot, The Strand. The parks & woods are enjoyed by all ages: teen hang-out, summer picnics, autumn walks, ecology & nature, the Santa On The Strand Christmas fair. Raised walks keep feet dry. Parking is accessible via the R668. The path goes upstream for 750 metres. Definitely a great place to enjoy. - 50 -
