Perhaps one of the greatest means to achieve global peace and harmony is having cultural exchanges. If we danced together ,share our music, food, art ,culture together we feel we would be too busy enjoying our diversity rather than thinking of differences. Delhi Public School Pathankot is the only school in Pathankot which is working on to build this human virtue in our coming generation so that we all live in harmony in future. Recently, 12 students went on a 5 days AFS Domestic Exchange program to The Lawrence School Lovedale ,Ooty. They had travelled to Tamil Nadu for the first time. At the Lawrence School Lovedale they had an experience of boarding life. They realised the value of time and discipline in this process. They shared stories about the school's and the neighboring areas' architecture, the graveyard ,the tea and chocolate factory that had reflections about the bygone colonial era . The natural vegetation, the topography ,the climate ,the language ,and food are so different from their own region. We are very thankful to our parents who are trusting us in our efforts .We would also like to acknowledge the contribution of the Headmaster of The Lawerence School Lovedale Ooty, together with the staff and students of their school. PURPOSE (SDGs under AFS International) Our planet is our shared space and we must join hands with each other to make it sustainable and to preserve it for our future generations. And who could be better advocates of this than our dynamic students. To play an active role in spreading awareness about Sustainable Development Goals, our students initiated and volunteered for a drive wherein they invited the students of a nearby KANJROOR DAV S.S. SCHOOL,BALSUA PULLI to introduce them to SDGs for we believe that we need to bridge inequalities and work together to achieve these global goals. On May 14,2024 forty two students from this School accompanied by their two teachers came to DPS. They were welcomed , settled and informed about Sutainable Development Goals by our studnets . Showing exceptional leadership skills, the students of DPS Pathankot guided their fellow students about their role in achieving the Agenda 2030 through power point presentations, dialogue and different activities. The students from both the schools pledged to do every bit to save planet Earth by saving water, avoiding food wastage, planting trees etc The day ended with a light Birdie Dance followed by distribution of kits (to Government school students) made by our students from the generous donations ( books, notebooks, stationery, water bottles, school bags etc)they collected from staff and students. #AFS #afsindia #SDGs PAGE 5 DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, PATHANKOT

Leader's aren’t born, they are Made.

PREFECTORIAL BOARD To bring forth the leadership skills of students, the school elects students for its prefectorial board every year. This elected body would act in management roles in different ways. They will help their fellow students , assist teachers and will try to disseminate school’s vision amongst all the students of school. Interviews were conducted by our respected Principal. After all the discussions and meetings with four house masters, names will be pondered over by stakeholders to finalise the body. Keep holding your breaths, as soon DPS, JHAKOLARI will be announcing the results. Written By Japneet Gr 10 PAGE 7 DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, PATHANKOT
