FOUNDERS Lorem MESSAGE ipsum In the initial vision for the organisation, we believed we would use the marathon as a test case in order to pool masses that take part in our events to be able to raise funds for selected charities and eventually one day their own charities. The dream is to allow other events that might not initially have the capacity to do so themselves, PGM Foundation would become a conduit to enable those events to raise money for charity, be it a cycling racing, motor racing or any other event. Fostering the spirit of ‘Botho’, we would like to invoke the community spirit that is so much a part of the Botswana’s culture, which supports and uplifts the livelihood of those around you, in extending oneself to the needs of others and embodies the spirit of giving. Ultimately, we would like to foster healthier communities, we find that children are playing less and less outside, so the ability to reduce the burden of an ailing society from government and families, by encouraging and casting an awareness about healthy living, even from primary school, would be the realisation of a dream. SPOR TS DE VELOPMENT PGM Foundation, is a charitable organization that was founded through the development of the first ever Gaborone marathon. The organization grew the race through the anchor sponsor to one of the most popular marathons in the region, the Diacore marathon. The development of the race as led the organization to sprout new interests in the objective of persistently giving more to the nation and the people of Botswana. PGM Foundation has at the heart of its sporting initiatives, geared its efforts towards the development of sports in Botswana, with a keen focus on the targeting obesity in children. The organization and its directors have engaged themselves in support of growing sporting codes within the country, with running and tennis as its base. The vision of growing key sporting codes has provided the organization with a platform that can support event logistical and security solutions, through the provision of services ranging from Crowd management solutions, Event security solutions, Logistical Management & Sporting Event Management Solutions. All events are managed in line with the highest health and safety regulations. DIACORE MAR ATHON DIACORE MARATHON Founded by PGM the race adopted its name in 2012 through the introduction of the title sponsor Diacore. It has grown from 2,000 to well over 6,000 participants, including and is renowned as one of the flattest and fastest race in the region. The 42.2km AIMs and IAAF certified Marathon event includes 21.1km half marathon, 10km race and a 4km fun run for the whole family and acts as a qualifier for the commonwealth and Olympic games. In 2016, in the marathon created the Diacore Gaborone Marathon running program a targeted program geared towards the education and development of key talented individuals in an effort to grow local talent to better compete in the international space.
TENNIS TOURNAMENT JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT The PGM tennis tournament founded in February 2018 as an initiative to drive awareness as well as the development of tennis in the youth. The drive to support the sport is to contribute towards the international arena and someday plant a seed that will see the Batswana players contribute on the world stage. The tournament is positioned as an annual event, that is intended toward facilitating a platform for increased competitive play, in the youth that can be nurtured through out their development and possible towards A list tournaments.
SOLUTIONS Sustainability is at the heart of every initiative that a business will embark upon, it is important that the sustainability agenda of every organization be geared beyond just the financial aspect of the organizational initiative but also look towards the environmental impact and the communities that are directly affected by these initiatives. The PGM Security solutions will draw form industry based experience to assist organizations and event coordinators with planning, execution and management of the most critical component that feeds the event sustainability agenda, which is the people that frequent the specific events, to assure a favorable event experience. The solutions will ensure and assure the customer of safety, due care and consideration to their wellbeing and those around them as well as display a level of professionalism befitting to the reputation and brand of the organizer as well as protect the organizer’s investment against vandalization and damages. SPORTING EVENT MANAGEMENT Through the experience gained from past events an end to end solution from the planning, marketing and set up of key component of the events can be managed through the services of the PGM foundation. Our team can come and assess the venue and advise on setup and key considerations to ensure that the event is safe and secure, as part of the turn key plan for an end to end solution.
CHARITY PGM Generates funding from the sale of the its solutions portfolio towards giving more to causes that are aligned to the sustainable growth of the nation. The organization is constantly seeking to find causes that will feed into the organizational goals and grow it giving nature. Tshogang Trust was founded as a small neighborhood support group in 2001, which cared and encouraged people in the community living with HIV and /or AIDS. Situated in Mogoditshane village in Botswana it has grown into a community organization affiliated with the Batswana Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (BONEPWA) in 2005, operating as an HIV and AIDS support group under the name of Tsogang Support Group (TSG), dealing with all the members of the community infected or affected by HIV and AIDS (i.e. children, youth and adults). Through its work, the need to also to reach out to youth, orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) and their families was recognized. TSG opened its doors to these members of the community, assisting them and their families / guardians in whichever way needed and possible. In February 2008, TSG became registered and officially recognized as Tsogang Trust (TT).
