Yardstick

A yardstick is made of smooth, shellacked hardwood or metal. It is used for marking hemlines and checking grainlines when laying out the pattern. L-square The tailor square or "L" is used to transfer measurements to the draft pattern. It also divides the garment into the desired measurement.
