My home is far from the world, My home is not on this earth, With pain and hardship and toil, I travel here on this earth, Heaven where God himself dwells, There is the home for me Dagadu Odonkor was born on 2nd February, 1966 at Abertima, a community in the Upper Manya Krobo District to the late Nomo Tesa and the late Mami Eugenia Adjongoor. He was an indigene of Ehiamenkyene. He was the third of seven children of his parents and the first to bid farewell to Mother Earth. FAMILY BACKGROUND Dagadu had his elementary education across several communities, a journey that taught him resilience from an early age. He started from Ketedorm L/A Primary School, continued to Bepoase Methdist Middle School, and completed at Oterkpolu Presby Middle School. CHRISTIAN LIFE In 1977, he was baptized into the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. From that day until his passing, he remained a committed and faithful Presbyterian, devoted to his faith and to the church. WORK AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE Dagadu was a man who believed in honest and hard work. He was widely known as a skilled plumber and a dedicated farmer. As a plumber, his expertise and reliability took him throughout the country. Wherever his services were needed, he went, earning deep respect for his skill, honesty, and dedication to duty. As a farmer, he loved the land and worked it with patience and pride. CHARACTER AND SOCIAL LIFE Dagadu was jovial, warm-hearted, and approachable. He had a rare and beautiful gift, the gift of storytelling. Whenever he found himself among family or friends, he lit up the gathering with stories, be it fiction or true stories from his travels and his work. He could turn a simple event into a memorable tale. People gathered around him to listen, to laugh, and to learn. He was truly a man of the people, and in every community he worked, he left behind friends. His nephews and nieces call him; Uncle Duu His siblings call him Durumee His friends call him Duu. FAMILY He was a family man and was blessed with four children, who together with his seven siblings and extended family, will forever cherish his memory. HIS CALL TO GLORY After a short illness, he was called to his maker on 14th May, 2026 at the Begoro District Hospital. At 60 years, Dagadu Odonkor has completed his earthly journey. He has fought a good fight and finished his race. FROM CHILDREN Our Beloved Father, Our Hero, Our Forever Love Daddy, Words can never truly express the depth of our sorrow or the emptiness your departure has left in our hearts. We still find it difficult to believe that you are no longer with us. It hurts to know that we will no longer hear your voice, see your smile, receive your advice, or simply have you around. You were more than just our father. You were our guide, our protector, our teacher, our provider, and a source of strength throughout our lives. You taught us, not only through your words, but through the way you lived. Your sacrifices, hard work, discipline, kindness, and determination shaped the people we have become today. As your children, we witnessed many of the sacrifices you made for us. There were times you put our needs before your own, worked through difficulties without complaining, and continued to encourage us even when life was not easy. You wanted nothing more than to see your children succeed and become responsible people. Daddy, you may not have said everything with words, but your actions spoke loudly. Every sacrifice you made was an expression of love. Every correction was a lesson. Every piece of advice was meant to prepare us for life. And every moment you spent with us became a precious memory that we will carry forever. We will miss so many things about you—the sound of your voice, your laughter, your presence, your advice, your jokes, and even those little things we sometimes took for granted. We never imagined that one day we would have to learn how to live without you. Though our hearts are broken, we are comforted by the knowledge that we were blessed to call you Dad. We promise to carry forward the values you instilled in us. We will continue to look after one another, support the family, and strive to make you proud. Whenever we achieve something, we will remember that you played a part in making it possible. Daddy, you have left a legacy that death cannot erase. You live on in us—in our memories, in our character, in the lessons you taught us, and in the love you gave us. If tears could bring you back, you would be with us today. If love could keep you here, you would never have left. But God, in His infinite wisdom, has called you home. Rest peacefully, Daddy. Though we cannot see you anymore, we will carry you in our hearts for the rest of our lives. We will speak your name with pride, remember you with love, and honour your memory in everything we do. Thank you for being our father. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for sacrificing for us. Thank you for giving us memories we will cherish forever. Until we meet again, Daddy, may you rest in perfect peace. Forever in our hearts. Forever our father. Your Children
