The Thirst Project What Is It? The Thirst Project is a youth-led non-profit organization focused on raising money for developing countries in order to build sanitation systems with fresh water. What are they doing? In the month of July, the thirst project continues its multi-day summer LEGACY SUMMIT. They host a multi-day student leadership conference with students and teachers from around the world for workshops, plenary sessions, and community-building to plan fundraising campaigns for the upcoming school year. Erika’s Lighthouse What Is It? Erika’s Lighthouse is a nonprofit organization focused on educating and spreading awareness about mental health to adolescents What are they doing? In the month of July, Erika’s Lighthouse focuses on helping schools organize upcoming curricula by providing school communities with free classroom programs, including teen empowerment clubs. As well, hosting youth leadership conferences and preparing for the BEACON OPEN fundraiser in August, which is a day of community of sports LTG. GOVERNOR’S PROJECT Shaping Scholars Description This year’s Governor’s Project addresses economic inequality in education across the district. Including a lack of resources for education, resulting in insufficient support for English Learner Students (ESL).
