Through these connections, students learn about jobs and pathways to employment. They develop new skills and employer networks, allowing them to make informed decisions about their career pathways. Employers can educate students about their industry and actively participate in developing talent pipelines. No two RIEP initiatives look the same. RIEP officers design opportunities tailored to the needs of both the employer and the school. The RIEP program takes a long-term approach to building these connections, providin opportunities along a student’s pathway through school and into further training or employment. For more information, contact your local RIEP Team: • Newcastle/Port Stephens: Gary Sewell gary.Sewell9@det.nsw.edu.au 0447 856 540 • Upper Hunter: Simon Mumford simon.mumford2@det.nsw.edu.au 0448 205 273 • Lake Macquarie: Jenny-Lee Pye jenney-lee.pye1@det.nsw.edu.au 0467 715 370 • Central Coast: Jill Giuliani jillian.giuliani@det.nsw.edu.au 0486 325 638 The Educational Pathways Program is being delivered in 148 government high schools across nine regions of NSW, including 24 government schools across Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, and the Upper Hunter Valley. It complements existing career education activities through the provision of additional resources to: • Ensure students can access sound advice, significant training pathways, and rewarding work opportunities. • Promote SBAT opportunities, a proven pathway for students to successfully transition to work and/or further education. • Match students with SBAT employers and offer tailored support and mentoring for students exploring these pathways. • Streamline delivery of the program across groups of schools.
