Feb-26 Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our dancers! MASDA has a great line up of callers this year. Our first dance is February 22 and features Dave Vieira and his wife Michele as our caller and cuer. See the flyer on the next page. We hope all of you will come out to welcome this international caller and cuer. Mike and Marcia Massey are glad that so many of you have renewed your membership dues. If you haven’t, please bring your dues to the dance on Sunday afternoon. If you are not joining MASDA, be sure to pick up your USDA insurance from your home club. There is so much going on in the world of square dancing this year. I am so excited to see the enthusiasm about our favorite sport. The first GSSDA dance was earlier this month featuring Paul Henze and Danny Weeks and was very successful, about 100 in attendance. The new Ladies First program with caller Danny Weeks on Sunday afternoons had a very successful start with about 40 dancers. This program is encouraging ladies to learn the men’s part, to have an opportunity to dance at a club when there aren’t enough men. I have heard that there were even two men who came to learn the ladies’ part. Both Hotlanta Squares and Woodstock Squares had national callers in January. Thank you to our dance leaders for bringing in great callers for our square dance community! MASDA will have two more national callers this year. We hope to see everyone at these dances.
