Biography

OF THE LATE MR. ANDREWS TEIKO TACKIE T hank you for joining us today as we come together to celebrate and remember the life of our beloved Mr. Andrews Teiko Tackie Mr. Andrews Teiko Tackie, affectionately referred to as Bob, Nana, Grandpa, or Teiko Asante, was born on July 24, 1946, to the late Mr. Ko Tackie Abia from greater Accra region and the late Madam Comfort Gyamfuah from Ashanti region. His birth occurred at Aheneboboano, near the Otumfour's Palace, in one of his aunt's private clinics. During his early years, Andrews resided with his mother in Asafo, Kumasi, before moving with her to Akrokyere, his maternal hometown, a small community located between Efduase and Kumawu, where he began his primary education until he permanently relocated to Accra to live with his paternal family. After settling in Accra, he continued his education and successfully completed Kinbu Middle School. Shortly thereafter, he secured employment at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, where he demonstrated exceptional diligence and a strong sense of responsibility. His pursuit of growth and excellence led him to join the Public Works Department, where he further honed his skills and gained valuable work experience. 3 FOREVER IN OUR HEART -ANDREWS TEIKO TACKIE Motivated by determination and a desire for professional advancement, he enrolled at the Training School in Weija, where he trained as a Draughtsman. Through hard work and dedication, he ascended through the ranks to become a Supervisor at the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited. He served the institution faithfully and honourably until his retirement in 2006. Mr. Andrews Teiko Tackie was recognized for his humility, discipline, and commitment to both work and family. Family gatherings were never complete without his humour and storytelling. He had the ability to make everyone laugh and his stories often contained a hidden lesson. Even during difficult times, he managed to find something positive to express. Beyond his immediate family, he impacted many lives. He was known for his generosity, not only in material possessions but also in time, wisdom, and love. He treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status in life. He held humility, discipline, and faith in high regard. He believed that no matter how challenging life became, there was always a silver lining to be found. Although his departure has created a significant emptiness in our hearts, his legacy persists through the numerous individuals he inspired. He instilled in us the importance of remaining united as a family, loving profoundly, forgiving readily, and consistently striving to do good.

Tribute

TO MY BELOVED HUSBAND For everything there is a season and time for every matter under heaven, a time to be born and a time to die” (Eccl 3) I t is with a heavy heart that I stand to honour you today. You were more than a husband to me, you were my companion, my encourager, and my greatest friend. Life with you was full of laughter, warmth, and the kind of love that is not easily found. I will forever remember when you used to escort me to the farm at Akrokyere, giggling and cracking jokes, our calm evenings, sitting by the radio tuned to Peace FM, listening to Pentecost teachings on Sundays. Those quiet moments reected your devotion to God and your deep desire to live a life rooted in faith. You also loved your food, and I cannot think of you without remembering your joy whenever you had a steaming bowl of fufu with light soup placed before you. It was one of your simple pleasures, and I was always glad to make it for you, knowing how much you cherished it. Though you are gone, Kwaku Coins or Kwaku Teiko, as I affectionately call you, your love remains with me. Your presence still lingers in the small things, the memories, and the countless ways you touched my life. I take comfort in the knowledge that you rest peacefully in the Lord's bosom. Rest well, my dear husband. You will forever be loved, remembered, and missed. 5 FOREVER IN OUR HEART -ANDREWS TEIKO TACKIE

TO OUR BELOVED FATHER We stand here today with hearts full of love and memories, honouring the life of our beloved Father ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away’ (Revelation 21:4) e nd comfort in knowing that our beloved father has been called away from a world of pain, trials, and illness into the eternal peace of his Creator, Almighty God. W Bob, or Daa as we affectionately referred to him, was a man characterized by discipline, love, and strength. We are forever thankful for the solid foundation he established in our lives. He expected nothing less than accountability, respect, and dedication to virtuous principles from us. Our father instilled in us timeless virtues that continue to shape who we are today — humility, modesty, sincerity, diligence, and compassion for others. He encouraged us to attend church regularly and to live lives that reect honour, integrity, and devotion to the Lord. Our father often used phrases in Twi and Ga to communicate with us, depending on the situation and our behaviour. Some examples include: · Wo banyin abeto (Twi) · Obada obanina (Ga) · Born pikin eno hard, money for koko wey e hard · Ebi tiyie, ebi nso nti yie koraa (Twi) Each of these expressions carried practical life lessons that shaped our understanding and values. Our father was more than a man who lived through time — he was a guardian of it. With quiet dedication, he kept detailed journals, carefully documenting the rhythm of daily life. His calm, deliberate handwriting captured moments of joy, reections born from hardship, and preserved cherished childhood photographs for generations to come. While others might let such details fade, he preserved them with intention. His journals were not merely books; they were living records of his thoughts, emotions, and the legacy of a life deeply observed. 6 FOREVER IN OUR HEART -ANDREWS TEIKO TACKIE As much as we cherished him, we could not bear to witness his suffering. Yet, death, the inevitable fate of all humanity, has taken him. We nd comfort in the assurance that he is now liberated from pain, resting in the embrace of his Creator. We vividly remember that solemn Sunday evening — August 17, 2025 — a moment forever etched in our hearts. Our father called us into his room, his voice calm yet deeply moving, and spoke words that carried profound meaning: “Monye baako na abusua te se kwae.” In that moment, we did not realize that his tender words were, in fact, his nal blessing — a quiet farewell spoken without saying goodbye. Unknowingly, he was preparing our hearts for his departure, with grace and love. We are proud to be your children, and we will continue to live in a way that honours you. We love you. We miss you. And we will never forget you. Da Yie Daa, Yaa wo jogbaa

GRANDCHILDREN W ords cannot express how great a treasure you have been in our hearts and how much pain we feel for this unexpected loss. Only time can help accept the fact. Grandpa, as we all call you, both young and old, you have dened who you are to us since our childhood. We still feel your presence in our lives. We have grown up hearing about the kind of man you were, loving, hardworking, disciplined, and kind. Through the stories told by our parents, uncles, and aunties, we have come to know you, admire you, and love you in our own special way. We are grateful we had the opportunity to speak with you, to hear your voice, and to wish you a happy birthday anytime you were celebrating. Even without many of those moments, your legacy speaks loudly. We see it in the lives of your children, who reect your values, your strength, and your faith. We see it in the love that binds our family together. Grandpa, though time did not allow us to know you more personally, we are thankful for the foundation you laid. We carry your name, your blood, and your blessings. Your memories live on in us, and we will continue to honour you by living upright lives that would make you proud. Rest well, Grandpa. You may be gone from this world, but you remain alive in our hearts and stories forever. 8 FOREVER IN OUR HEART -ANDREWS TEIKO TACKIE
