Today, Gloria is an active member of Mujeres Con Poder. Without these programs, SPIRITT would not be able to provide such life changing experiences to not only Gloria but to her children as well. He faced challenges throughout the pandemic – especially with building healthier relationships with his children. Carlos’ resiliency and passion for improving his relationship with his children while navigating the DCFS system contributed to him being a key player in launching “Donuts with Dads” within SPIRITT’s Prevention and Aftercare (P&A) program. Carlos often shares how the platform and safe space to share has allowed him to grow and has encouraged him to share that growth with other fathers who may feel unseen while navigating through hardships. He continued to participate in many of SPIRITT’s workshops, events, and activities that helped him stay resilient throughout the pandemic. *Name has been changed for confidentiality SPIR I T T F AMILY SERVICES' ANNUAL REP O R T ( F Y 2 0 2 2 - 2 3 ) | P A G E 3
