Obituary

O n October 13th, 1961, a strong and healthy baby boy was born in Nassau, Bahamas to proud parents, Elva Wilkinson and Kenneth “Pee Wee” Wilkinson Sr. Kenny’s education took him from Our Lady’s Primary School to St. Augustine’s College and C.C. Sweeting Sr. High School, and ultimately to The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 1985. Returning home, he began a career dedicated to service, working at the Department of Social Services and American Eagle, before transferring to the Department of Labor and Public Service, where his commitment and leadership ultimately earned him the title of Assistant Director. Kenneth was loving, mischievous, and fearless as a child, and was no stranger to discipline from his mother, Elva. It didn’t stop him though. It was like water off a duck’s back. His bold spirit carried him through childhood, unshaken and always ready for the next challenge or the next bit of fun. He was the kind of boy who could turn a quiet afternoon into an adventure, finding laughter in every corner. Those early years left behind stories his family still loves to share. Tales of a boy too full of life to ever sit still. Known for his no-nonsense ways, Kenneth had little patience for injustice. He championed the overlooked, protected the mistreated, and never hesitated to speak up for those without a voice. His time as a social worker brought out his natural gift for advocacy. To his friends—of which he had many—he was unwaveringly true, faithful, and loyal. He might talk to you hard, but he loved you harder. Basketball was one of Hart’s greatest passions, and he quickly earned a reputation as a formidable player. Ruthless in the paint, unstoppable on both ends of the court, and with a mouth you could hear miles away. During the 1980s and 90s, he collected countless awards through the Bahamas Games and leagues across the country. In March 2025, he was honored with induction into the New Providence Institute of Basketball Legends, joining the ranks of many longtime friends and peers. His family takes comfort in knowing he received his flowers while he could still smell them. Kenny’s devotion to family was one of his defining qualities. He was a loving father to his daughters—Kendra, Reagan, and Kennedy—who were the center of his life. His joy only grew with the arrival of his granddaughters, Braelynn and Phoenix. Kenny was the proudest “girl dad” and “Papa,” never missing a chance to proclaim it, and he cherished the bond he shared with each of them. As a brother and uncle, he was a true jokester—always ready with a prank and a laugh so contagious that you couldn’t help but join in, even if you were the one he just got. The hugs, the kisses, the firm handshakes, and the words “I appreciate you, man” and “I love you” are memories we will always treasure. He carried many nicknames and titles, all now resting in our hearts and minds for eternity. Our love for him will never stop, and it will never fade. Song of Anticipation | Glad Reunion Day

There will be a happy meeting in heaven I know When we see the many loved ones we’ve known here below. Gather on the blessed hilltops with hearts all aglow. That will be a glad reunion day. Glad day, a wonderful day, Glad day, a glorious day; There with all the holy angels and loved ones to stay, That will be a glad reunion day. There within the holy city we’ll sing and rejoice, Praising Christ the blessed Saviour with heart and with voice. Tell him how we came to love Him and make Him our choice. That will be a glad reunion day. When we live a million years in that wonderful place Basking in the love of Jesus, beholding His face. It will seem but just a moment of praising His grace. That will be glad reunion day. Service of Committal

Moderator | T.G. Morrison (Rev.) 3rd Elected Bahamian Pastor Oh, What A Sunrise God gives life and He takes it away He is the Potter and I am the clay When I view the last sunset and cross over the sea I know the sunrise will be waiting for me Time will come for the last goodbye There’s a smile though tears dim the eye Death will take us, but only to sleep In the arms of my Saviour so sweet Oh what a sunrise it’s going to be Death will lose its sting, the grave its victory The silence will be broken The storm clouds rolled away I hear the saints and angels singing On our homecoming day It Is Finished There’s a line that is drawn through the ages On that line stands an old rugged cross On that cross, a battle is raging Or the gain a man’s soul or it’s loss On one side, march the forces of evil All the demons, and all the devils of hell On the other, the angels of glory And they meet on Golgotha’s hill It is finished, the battle is over It is finished, there’ll be no more war It is finished, the end of the conflict It is finished and Jesus is Lord Prayer | T.G. Service of Committal

Daddy,

My north star. My compass. There’s just not a world where I thought you’d be gone. Life feels empty without you and I am lost. How do I do this now? You were simply the best. You taught me everything that mattered: to be strong, but soft. To speak up, but listen. To do the right thing, even when it costs something. To advocate for myself and others. And give God thanks even in the midst of the hard. Those lessons will carry me forward, but right now, all I feel is this ache. A hollow space where you should be. What I wouldn’t give for one more hug, kiss and phone call just to say hi and remind me that you loved me. I keep thinking about all the little moments. Your voice when you encouraged me, your loud, hysterical laugh that made everyone else around you laugh, the way you always believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself and the times you reminded me that if there was no one else I can depend on, you would always be there. This hurts more than words can ever express. I am shattered and I don’t know that I’ll ever fully recover from this. But even in my pain, I am grateful that you were my daddy. Grateful Braelynn and Phoenix knew how much their Papa loved them. Grateful that God assigned you to me. The love we shared and the bond we had was unmatched. I’m grateful for every second I had with you but it’ll never feel like I had enough time. Thank you for everything. I love you endlessly. I just hope I make you proud. Love, Kendra Kenneth Demetrius wilkinson | 9
