What is Canvas For A Cause?

Canvas For A Cause is an annual fundraising event organized by UAC that aims to support programs connecting artists with communities. Since its launch in 2024, this initiative has been instrumental in making art more accessible and transforming spaces through creativity.

How Does It Work?

UAC distributes free 6x6" canvases to individuals of all backgrounds, encouraging them to create artwork for a group exhibition open to the public. This event serves as a platform for artists of all ages and abilities to express themselves artistically, showcasing the diverse voices within the community and highlighting the idea that art is inclusive and for everyone.

Delivering the Gift of Art

Canvas For A Cause not only expands UAC's impact in Memphis by engaging more communities in the arts but also gives back through a partnership with Meritan. Participants can choose to sponsor a canvas for a low-income, homebound senior in Meritan's Silver Bells program, spreading joy and creativity to those in need.
