Canvas For A Cause: Raising Funds and Connecting Communities
Supporting Artistic Expression and Community Engagement
Canvas For A Cause is an annual fundraising event organized by UAC, aimed at supporting programs that bring together artists and communities. Since its inception in 2024, the event has been instrumental in making art more accessible and transforming spaces through creativity. Participants are given free 6x6" canvases to create unique artworks that will be showcased in a public exhibition, showcasing a diverse range of voices and perspectives within the community.

Delivering the Gift of Art and Making an Impact
Canvas For A Cause not only expands UAC's reach in Memphis by engaging more communities in the arts but also gives back through a partnership with Meritan. Participants have the opportunity to sponsor a canvas that will be delivered to a low-income, homebound senior as part of the Silver Bells program. This initiative aims to bring joy and creativity to those who need it most, emphasizing the transformative power of art in uplifting individuals and communities.

Get Involved and Make a Difference
Individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate in Canvas For A Cause by picking up a free canvas from UAC and unleashing their creativity. Hosting a craft party with friends or colleagues is a fun way to engage with the event and contribute to the vibrant art community in Memphis. Submissions for the 2025 exhibition are due by August 20th, with the public display scheduled for September 12th - 13th at The Ugly Art Co. on 635 Madison Ave.
