General Information

Group: Lactantes B School: Daycare of the University of Colima Location: Av.25 de Julio s/n, Equipamiento Urbano, 28040 Colima, Col. Course Length: From August to November 20 sessions (30 minutes each) Schedule: 10:30 am -11:00 am (Monday and Wednesday) Language Level: Early Stimulation ol Course Overview In this course we are going to be working in 2 different axes which are personal area and social area, the program is divided into 4 units where we address topics such as: Textures, Body parts, color and family members. Purpose The infants will identify and recognize different words associated with different objects such as toys or things around them.

Students’ Profile

In our classroom there are 12 toddlers aged from 6 months to 1 year, they are able to crawl and most of them can stand and walk, they understand basic words, but they can produce output yet, they are into music and bright toys or objects, some of them are really curious and like to interact with new people, they even can imitate you and follow your movements a few of them are shy and require time to get along with new people. Course Objective By the end of this course, infants aged 6 months to 1 year will be able to identify and recognize various sensory stimuli, body parts, basic motor skills, and individual identities through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, thereby enhancing their sensory, motor, and cognitive development. Evaluation Criteria

In this course, the assessment process is based on the observation of students behavior under the following areas : Sensory motor: The former refers to the earliest stage of human development where mental coordinations are formed through the coordination of sensory and motor actions, leading to the acquisition of concepts like space, time, causality, and object permanence. Language skills: The language skills includes: listening skills, writing skills, speaking skills and reading skills. Sociopsychological: It involves accurately judging social psychological phenomena- the feelings, the thoughts and behaviors of people in general rather than those of specific individuals. Cognitive area: The latter covers attention, perception, memory, language, executive function, spatial processing, processing speed, emotion regulation, social cognition, and creativity. When to assess? Every moment Every class Every activity The assessment for learning is carried out through daily informal observation by keeping records of their progress which are part of the daily records of students' work that are gathered in a structured observation form as given in the IMSS procedural manual.
