Urban Renewal participates in Collaborative Day of Service at Stapledon School On October 5th, 2024, children and center managers from 15 Urban Renewal Centers, under the leadership of Acting Deputy Director Lilliemae Longley, will join forces with members of the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of The Bahamas, along with visiting Rotarians from District 7730. They will participate in a meaningful day of service at the Stapledon School for special needs children on Dolphin Drive in Nassau, Bahamas. This collaborative effort will exemplify a commitment to community support and upliftment, making a significant impact on the lives of the children and the broader community. Carmichael Urban Renewal Breast Cancer Donation On Thursday 10th October 2024, ASP Nathalie Ranger, and Sgt. 3578 Kenisha Forbes, made a heartfelt donation to the Sister Sister Bahamas Organization on behalf of The Honorable Keith Bell, Minister of Housing and Urban Renewal and Member of Parliament for Carmichael, as well as the entire Carmichael Urban Renewal Team. This contribution was a reflection of their unwavering commitment to supporting those affected by breast cancer and strengthening ties within the community and organizations alike.

Seniors Embrace Wellness in Full Color A Vibrant Celebration of Health and Wellness Seniors from various constituencies came together at the Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium for the Senior Health and Wellness Extravaganza, proudly dressed in colorful fitness attire. The event fostered an atmosphere of unity and enthusiasm as participants engaged in lowimpact exercises, promoting health and vitality in a supportive community environment. This impactful gathering underscores the importance of prioritizing wellness at every stage of life. Empowering Seniors On October 17th,2024 ,The Ministry of Housing & Urban Renewal, in collaboration with The Ministry of Health & Wellness, proudly Prioritizing Senior Health A Moment of Care sponsored the Senior Health and Wellness Extravaganza under the theme "Your Wellness Matters. Seniors from various constituencies arrived in their fitness attire, energized and ready to engage in lowimpact, low-intensity exercises. Mr. Wilton Russell, Sports Director at Urban Renewal, served as moderator of the event, and expertly coordinated the exercise activities, which were met with enthusiasm by all participants. In addition to the fitness exercises, the event featured a variety of booths from health and wellness partners. Participants had the opportunity to taste nutritious products and gather valuable health information from organizations such as the National Health Insurance Authority (NHI), The Cancer Society of The Bahamas, New Life Natural Company Limited, BAIC, The Bahamas Red Cross, and The Ministry of Health and Wellness. This extravaganza highlighted the importance of health and fitness for our senior citizens, reaffirming that wellness is for everyone. After the event, the seniors enjoyed healthy snacks and drinks courtesy of the sponsors of the event. Seniors attending the Health and Wellness Extravaganza received personalized health checks from dedicated professionals. This initiative emphasized the importance of regular screenings in maintaining overall wellbeing. The event fostered awareness and encouraged healthy lifestyle choices, ensuring seniors are supported every step of the way toward optimal health.

Assessment The Ministry of Housing and Urban Renewal is conducting an Exuma Assessment for a proposed subdivision project, aimed at enhancing the island’s infrastructure and community development. This initiative will evaluate the potential for new residential spaces, ensuring that future growth aligns with sustainable planning and the needs of local residents. Town Hall Meeting: Shaping the Future Together In conjunction with this assessment, a Town Hall Meeting was convened to engage the public, solicit feedback, and address community concerns. This open forum proved invaluable, offering insights as we collaboratively shape Exuma’s future growth while preserving the island's distinctive charm and character.

HILL HOSTS CREATIVE SIP AND PAINT EVENT FOR SENIORS October 21st,2024 Urban Renewal Fox Hill hosted a vibrant Sip and Paint event on On October 21, 2024, Urban Renewal Fox Hill organized a delightful Sip and Paint event at the community center, bringing together seniors for an afternoon filled with creativity and camaraderie. The event provided participants with an opportunity to explore their artistic talents in a fun and relaxed atmosphere October 21, 2024, bringing seniors together creativity, for fun, an afternoon and of community bonding! The seniors enjoyed sipping on refreshing beverages while expressing themselves through vibrant colors and imaginative designs on their canvases. Laughter, storytelling, and a shared sense of community filled the air as they embraced their creative side, many discovering hidden talents they never knew they had. The energy in the room was uplifting as participants supported and cheered one another on, making the event a truly memorable experience. New Partnerships Formed

with Bus Tour and Luncheon Delight October 23, 2024 Fox Hill Urban Renewal and Englerston Urban Renewal took their seniors to a Culinary and Arts Festival at the Bahamar Resort on the 23rd Oct 2024 . Everyone enjoyed themselves , indulging in a delightful array of dishes that showcased the rich culinary heritage of the region. The festival featured live cooking demonstrations, art exhibits, and musical performances that captivated the audience. Seniors also had the opportunity to participate in Company Expansion: Opening of interactive workshops, where they learned new skills and techniques. Remarks at Caribbean Baseball Cup Opening October 23, 2024 The 6th Caribbean Baseball Cup officially opened on October 23, 2024, at the Andre Rodgers National Baseball Stadium. Hosted by The Bahamas, the tournament features teams from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, the US Virgin Islands, St. Maarten, and Curaçao, competing for regional supremacy. Company Expansion: Opening of The Honourable Keith Bell, Minister of Housing and Urban Renewal, kicked off the event with New Branch in Major City to Serve inspiring remarks and threw the first pitch. Distinguished guests included the Honourable Lisa Rahming, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Renewal, and His Demands Growing Majesty’s Leader of the Opposition, the Honourable Michael Pintard. The event celebrates Caribbean unity, athleticism, and culture, as fans cheer on their teams for a week of exciting baseball action.
