Welcome and Updates
Welcome to the Spring/Summer newsletter of the Con Club, where the Committee provides updates on the Club's status and activities. Despite facing setbacks, the Club is thriving thanks to the hard work of the volunteers. Constructive feedback and suggestions are welcomed to enhance the Club's offerings. With around 400 members, new joiners are encouraged to inquire at the bar for details. The Club is involved in various community initiatives, such as collecting donations for the local food bank and supporting charities in Africa. A recent tribute was paid to a long-serving member, Mandy, and donations were made to Birmingham Hospice.

Facility Upgrades and Activities
Significant investments have been made to update and modernize the Club's facilities, including improvements to the lounge, snooker room, function room, and more. Various weekly activities cater to different interests, from exercise classes to bingo nights and open mic events. The bar staff has seen changes, with new managers taking over and additional staff ensuring smooth operations. The Club also hosts a range of entertainment events, from live bands to film nights and children's activities. Financially, the Club has shown resilience and growth, even after the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic.

Remembering Roger Woakes
The Club recently mourned the loss of Roger Woakes, a former Chairman known for his dedication to the members. His contributions were vital to the Club's development, and he will be dearly missed. The Club's financial stability and ongoing improvements reflect a commitment to providing a vibrant and engaging space for its members and the community. Regular updates on events and initiatives are shared through various channels, ensuring members stay informed and engaged in the Club's activities.
