Kolej Teknologi Darulnaim (KTD) formerly known as Institut Teknologi Darulnaim (ITD) was formed by Kelantan State Government in 1997. It is also a continuation of the legacy left by Tuan Guru Dato’ Bentara Setia Haji Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, former Chief Minister of Kelantan, Malaysia. Kelantan, traditionally called the “Veranda of Mecca” has always had long historical root and stronghold of traditional Islamic education (Pondok) in Malaysia and South East Asia region. Kolej Teknologi Darulnaim (Darulnaim College of Technology), after a handover, then began its operation in 2003 as a higher education initiative by HALUAN. It is the completion of integrated educational initiatives from pre-schools, primary schools and secondary schools throughout Malaysia. The harmony in which both HALUAN and Al-Marhum Tuan Guru shared in viewing the value of Islamic emphasis in education, was materialized through the inception of KTD. As an Islamic based institution, we aspire to be a waqaf learning institution in the future, benefiting the community. Tuan Guru Dato’ Bentara Setia • Haji Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat KTD offers diploma level programs in the fields of Islamic, management, and technological studies. The main focus is to educate and increase the potential of students, especially the economically disadvantaged, to become excellent graduates, with high moral compass and ready to serve their family and the society. Up until 2020, we have produced 2219 local and foreign graduates, channeling them into various industries while continuing to guide them to equally serve the community. We now aspire to expand further, to be more financially viable to secure permanent site for College-University status. We need your support and let’s together continue this glorious legacy. Building an ummah; a shared responsibility, generating the reward till eternity! • Kolej Teknologi Darulnaim (KTD) formerly known as Institut Teknologi Darulnaim (ITD) was formed by Kelantan State Government in 1997. It is the brainchild of the late Tuan Guru Dato’ Bentara Setia Haji Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, Menteri Besar of Kelantan (1990 -2013), aimed at educating and producing admirable moral professionals. The implementation was completed through EQ Resources Sdn.Bhd, a subsidiary of Permodalan Kelantan Berhad owned by the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation (PKINK). • A series of strategic meetings were held between representatives of HALUAN (Himpunan Lepasan Institusi Pendidikan Malaysia) and PKINK to discuss several matters related to academic development, student education, operational effectiveness and continuity of college management. As a result, on 15 May 2004, PKINK with the blessings of Tuan Guru, agreed to take over the management of the college by HALUAN through Akar Ikhlas Sdn. Bhd . • The 6 -acre KTD campus is located in Pengkalan Chepa, 13 kilometers from the city of Kota Bharu (the capital of Kelantan) and 3 kilometers from Sultan Ismail Airport. It is surrounded by a large number of educational institutions such as Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Asia Pacific Aviation Institute, PERKIM Training Institute, Mara Science Junior College, Maahad Sains Tok Guru, and also adjacent to the Pengkalan Chepa industrial area. The strategic location facilitates the college management to get support facilities and is beneficial for the teaching and learning process.
• KTD's academic program began with the appointment as the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Diploma Studies Cooperation Program Center for the state of Kelantan. It is the result of an MoU signed on 6th March 1997 and the inaugural session of study at Diploma level began in the semester of July 1997/1998. The expansion of academic programs continued in collaboration with the Selangor Islamic University College (KUIS) in 2010 as well as developing its own program. • The main emphasis for all programs of study is the enhancement and consolidation of admirable moral values. The college management has set a philosophy, vision, mission, core values, and a structured implementation system to train and educate students and staff towards achieving this ideal goal. They are processed through meticulously crafted approach to produce excellent, moral and skilled graduates.
