The 2024 Focus on Africa Global Seminar will take place in Kenya, a country known for its diverse landscapes, rich wildlife, and deep human history. Participants will explore various aspects of Kenya, including its economy, public health, energy, transportation, media technology, and education. The program aims to provide a holistic view of life in Kenya, examining local and global issues and the role of major institutions. Interactions with local communities will facilitate cultural exchange and two-way learning.
The program focuses on promoting transformation by broadening participants' intellectual horizons and personal growth. Through intercultural competence, global citizenship, personal growth, professional development, and intellectual growth, participants will engage with diverse perspectives and enhance their understanding of Kenya's critical institutions and global impacts.
The daily program includes a variety of activities such as orientation sessions, Swahili language lessons, cultural workshops, home visits, lectures on public health and education, visits to key institutions like the World Health Organization, and a public forum focusing on Africa. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore different cities in Kenya, engage with local communities, and reflect on their experiences throughout the journey.
