Client: Aquatec Maxcon - Whitsunday Regional Council Location: Whitsunday, QLD The Bowen Sewage Treatment Plant underwent an upgrade in 2019, which involved the installation of a 14,000 EP Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), odour control, aerobic biosolids stabilisation, and recycled water facilities. This upgrade has enabled the plant to treat a greater volume of recycled water to supply the Bowen Recycled Water Network. As a result, the amount of treated effluent discharged into Port Denison has significantly reduced, decreasing nutrient mass loading on the natural environment. Flexshield also supplies a range of fire rated Flexshield’s acoustic doors have all been designed and laboratory tested following the exclusive Sonicfix concept, which means the doors are very easily fitted by screwing the frame in place and applying a silicon seal on each side.
