Supporting Everyday Ontarians: Putting Money Back Into People’s Pockets THREE TAX CREDITS YOU SHOULD KNOW Ontario Child Care Tax Credit Eligible families can claim up to 75% of eligible childcare expenses, including services provided by childcare centres, homes and camps. It’s Low-Income Individuals & Families (LIFT) Tax Credit A credit of up to $875 per year in personal income tax relief for low-income workers, which can be used to reduce or eliminate one's personal income tax, except for the Ontario Health Premium. Ontario Seniors Care at Home Tax Credit Low- to moderate-income seniors 70+ can claim up to 25% of eligible medical expenses of up to $6,000 for a maximum credits of $1,500. Additional tax credits can be found at: ontario.ca/TaxCredits Home Renovation Savings: up to 30% rebates! The new Home Renovation Savings Program is here to help families save on energy costs while keeping rates affordable. With rebates of up to 30% on upgrades like new windows, doors, insulation, smart thermostats, and rooftop solar panels, this program makes energy efficiency more accessible than ever. Starting later in 2025, rebates will also extend to energy-efficient appliances such as refrigerators and freezers, offering even more ways to save. For more details: raymondcho.ca/HomeRenovationSavings Breast Cancer Screening: Self-Referral Age is now 40 Women aged 40 and up can now self-refer for publicly funded mammograms without a referral from a primary care provider. Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) is now connecting 305,000 more women to life-saving screening sooner across Ontario! Supporting Everyday Ontarians: Keeping Communities Safe The Ontario government is investing $11 billion to protect Ontario’s businesses and workers from economic uncertainty and the impact of U.S. tariffs by: Deferring provincial taxes for six months for businesses. The $9 billion worth of cash flow can allow them to keep workers employed and weather the economic turmoil. ✅ Delivering a further $2 billion rebates to help employers and keep workers on the job, in addition to the previous $2 billion rebates distributed in March. ✅ Ontario will continue to safeguard our economy by breaking down internal trade barriers, accelerating development approvals, diversifying our trade partners and equipping our businesses to compete globally. The Ontario government is tackling auto theft with tough new penalties for VIN fraud. up to $100,000 for convictions the possibility of up to six months in jail up to one-year driver’s licence or vehicle permit suspension To help police prevent dangerous activities, such as unsanctioned street races and car rallies, and hold careless drivers accountable, Ontario has expanded careless driving laws to private parking lots, such as malls, and extending the time that charges can be laid from six months to two years. Seniors Driver Licence Renewals - Now at ServiceOntario! Seniors aged 80 and plus can now renew their drivers’ licence at select ServiceOntario centres. A Stronger Scarborough Health Network 27 NEW Hemodialysis Stations Coming to General and Centenary Hospitals! The Ontario government is investing $15 million to expand dialysis care at the Scarborough Health Network to address the high demand for dialysis service and meet the ongoing needs of patients and their families in Scarborough -- now and for years to come. Scarborough has one of the highest end-stage kidney disease prevalence rates in North America. With the addition of 27 new hemodialysis stations, including 21 stations at the Centenary site and 6 stations at the General site, more people can access life-sustaining renal care. Connecting People To Convenient Care Historic Expansion in Community Health Centres in Scarborough  Exciting news for Scarborough! Ontario is investing $2.8 million in TAIBU Community Health Centre and the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities, both are staples of community health in Scarborough. The Ontario government is committed to keeping Scarborough healthy and thriving. This is part of the larger historic $14 million investment in community health centers in Toronto, to connect 49,000 people to primary care.  Building A Stronger Healthcare Workforce Training Up to 100 Healthcare Professionals in Scarborough The Ontario government is investing over $880,000 in Majestic Medical Training Centre Project to train up to 100 healthcare professionals in Scarborough for indemand careers in healthcare, boosting our healthcare workforce and connecting Ontario workers to good jobs. The project will focus on healthcare management and advanced diagnostic imaging technology, to fill unmet occupational demands. This latest round of funding brings Ontario's total investment through the Skills Development Fund to up to $1.4 billion. www.raymondcho.ca

Supporting Scarborough Seniors Historic Investments in Active Seniors – Largest Expansion of Seniors Centres Ontario is investing $17 million in the largest expansion of Seniors Active Living Centres (SALC) in the province’s history to provide seniors with more ways to stay healthy, active, and connected in their community. Starting this year, 100 new SALC programs will open, including a new one here in Scarborough North! Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto (5183 Sheppard Avenue East) Scarborough Celebrates Seniors Community Grant Recipients The Ontario government is also investing up to $6 million from 2024-2025 to support 282 Seniors Community Grant. These community projects will receive funding to provide seniors with opportunities stay fit, active, healthy, socially connected, close to their homes and in their communities.
