CNC is located in Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Tobago. It was founded in 1951 as the Nazarene Training College. In 1974 the institution’s name was changed to Caribbean Nazarene Theological College and then to the Caribbean Nazarene College in 2005. It is owned and operated by the International Church of the Nazarene. CNC stands firmly in the Wesleyan-Armenian tradition, unashamedly asserting that God is able in this day to give men and women holy hearts and to enable them to live holy lives in the midst of an unholy world. CNC is accredited by the Caribbean Evangelical Theological Association and the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago. It is committed to cultivating Christian leadership through academic excellence, spiritual development, community awareness, and steadfast loyalty to the principles of the Wesleyan holiness tradition in a Caribbean cultural environment. The academic programmes are designed to prepare persons for pastoral ministries and religious education in the local church and to equip persons who desire to serve as Christian leaders in their chosen careers, and religious and business organizations. The College encourages lifelong learning for those in leadership and to enhance the ministry of those that are already in ministry or in fulltime career positions. Its Lifelong Learning Programme offers resources for continuing education and ministerial preparation. It allows a more flexible approach to prepare laity and ministers to lead in national churches across the Caribbean islands.
