PDA Surrey Programme

Introduction

SCL and Pro Direct have partnered to offer a full-time education and football development programme in Surrey, aiming to kick-start careers in the sports industry. The course includes a mix of education delivered by SCL and football training provided by Pro Direct Academy Surrey. Learners will engage in various activities such as football training, match programmes, tutorials, work experience, and potentially English and maths studies.

Programme Details

The programme spans two years, with Year 1 focusing on the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Sport, and Year 2 on the NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. Students may apply for bursaries if their household income falls within the specified range. Additionally, some learners may need to undertake maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills, depending on their previous academic achievements.

Why NCFE?

The decision to opt for NCFE qualifications over the traditional BTEC route was influenced by the government's funding changes and shift towards external assessment-based units. NCFE is considered a strong alternative to BTEC, offering similar content and course specifications, making it a suitable choice for the programme. The NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport is a key component of the curriculum, complemented by additional studies in maths and English where necessary.
