Module-1 1.1 Introduction to Management Information System (MIS) A management information system (MIS) is a computer-based system that provides information and data to support the decision-making process of an organization's management. It collects, processes, stores, and distributes information in a timely and efficient manner, allowing managers to make informed decisions. The purpose of an MIS is to help managers at all levels of an organization to plan, organize, and control operations, and make strategic decisions. MIS includes software applications, hardware, and people. It collects data from various sources and then processes and summarizes the data into meaningful reports and dashboards that can be used to identify trends, monitor performance, and make informed decisions.
