Committee welcomes our folklórico family to Pueblo, Colorado, as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary! For a decade, this competition has brought dancers, directors, instructors, families, and communities together to celebrate the beauty and diversity of Mexican folkloric dance. What began as a vision has grown into a tradition that connects us across generations, states, and borders. We extend our deepest gratitude to the committee members and volunteers who have given their time, energy, and dedication year after year. Many have been part of this journey since the beginning, working tirelessly behind the scenes to make each competition possible. This milestone would not exist without your commitment and love for our culture. Anahí Vasquez is nursing student at Pueblo Community College with a passion for supporting mothers. She's the founder of Pinky's Packages, a fundraiser aimed to aid the financial burden of motherhood, and Motherhood Truth, an advocacy platform shining a light on the realities of motherhood and the health disparities mothers face. She hopes to one day become a Certified Nurse Midwife, continuing her commitment to caring for others. Anahí currently proudly serves as the Colorado State Fair Fiesta Queen, an honor that celebrates her culture, heritage, and dedication to representing her community. My name is Stephanie Beltran, and I am a 19-year-old from Pueblo, Colorado. I am currently studying Biology and Spanish while minoring in Chemistry at Colorado State University Pueblo, with the goal of becoming a mixed-animal veterinarian. I currently serve as the 2026 Colorado State Fair Fiesta First Attendant, a role that allows me to represent my community and celebrate the culture and traditions that have shaped who I am. I have also been dancing with Omawari for the past 15 years and have remained actively involved in my community through cultural events, leadership opportunities, and volunteer work. Jose es un hijo orgulloso de inmigrantes que vinieron del hermoso estado de Michoacán. El primero en su familia de graduarse de la universidad, José trata de apoyar a su comunidad y familia llegar a metas imposibles. Gerald Sanchez is a native of Pueblo, CO. He graduated from the University of Southern Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish. He spent a few years working in mental health. He later earned his teaching license and a master’s in education from UCCS. He has spent the last twenty-five years teaching at local schools. He has done extensive volunteer work in the community through local churches; the Big Brother Program; the Latino Chamber of Commerce Ambassador; the CO State Fair Fiesta Committee; CASA; and various other events.
In the winter of 2024, Ballet Folkorico de Aztlan was born out of a dream to bring cultura, pasión y entretenimiento to the people. With an emphasis on providing a place where people of all ages come together to build friendships, create lasting memories, build confidence, and most important of all, learn about their cultural roots. Ballet Folklorico de Aztlan is bringing new opportunities to our local community of Los Lunas, New Mexico, providing a safe space for children and adults to express their love for their Mexican culture. Our dancers come together from different regions of our beloved México, bringing its beautiful traditions to life through dance. Ballet Folklorico De Houston Ballet Folklorico De Aztlan The Ballet Folklórico de Houston is an artistic and cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, education, promotion, and dissemination of Mexican folklore, using dance as a bridge to strengthen our roots, identity, and traditions within the Houston, Texas community. Founded and directed by Evelyn García, Ballet Folklórico de Houston was created with the vision of providing a space where children, youth, and adults could connect with Mexico’s rich cultural heritage through comprehensive dance training. Its work goes beyond the stage: every dance, costume, piece of music, and tradition represents an opportunity for younger generations to learn about, appreciate, and take pride in Mexico’s cultural diversity.
