JILLIAN TODD’s artistic journey began in the heart of Potsdam, New

York. By the tender age of six, she was already gracing the piano keys and mastering dance routines. Surrounded by a family who cherished music – her father, a seasoned guitarist, her mother, and her two younger sisters, all possessed an innate musicality – Jillian’s own artistic spirit blossomed. Throughout her high school years, she participated in prestigious summer stock productions of “Chicago,” “Cats,” and “Mary Poppins” hosted by Pace University at the Crane School of Music. Following her graduation from SUNY Geneseo in 2021, Jillian embarked on a new chapter in her artistic journey, drawn to the captivating allure of Key West where she joined the talented ensemble of the Waterfront Playhouse. She captivated audiences in diverse productions such as “Rocky Horror Show,” “Shout,” “Matilda,” “Escape to Margaritaville” and “Singin’ in the Rain.” In May 2022, she traded in the rhythm of restaurant life for the rhythmic strum of the guitar, honing her skills and eventually taking the stage at iconic Key West venues. This newfound passion for songwriting has led Jillian to discover and refine her unique musical style. Alongside fellow musician Jesse Wagner, she has formed the dynamic duo “Jess & Jill,” captivating audiences five days a week at Salty Frog’s Bar. This summer, their talents will grace stages across Costa Rica and the East Coast, showcasing the artistic spirit that blossomed in the vibrant embrace of Key West. Jillian Todd’s story is a testament to the transformative power of artistic expression. From her early theatrical endeavors to her blossoming songwriting career, she continues to weave a tapestry of creativity, captivating audiences and leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Key West.

Chase Michon is a 23 year old bass player out of Cudjoe Key, Florida.

Originally from Saint Charles, Michigan, music has always been a driving force in his life. After initially picking up the bass at 11 years old, he gradually started to gain stylistic influence from bass players such as Chuck Rainey, James Jamerson, Verdine White and Jaco Pastorius. His main musical background is based in funk music but is heavily influenced by jazz, gospel and RnB. Since the age of 16, he has lived in Lake Worth, Tallahassee and now the Florida Keys where he works as a full time musician. Ryan Ptasnik honed his drumming skills in Pinedale High School band classes in Wyoming, a foundation that would eventually carry him from garage bands to performing at the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. This jazz-trained drummer has become a versatile force in multiple musical worlds, from his work with the experimental group Moyindau—where he performed Kazakh poetry settings at the base of Pik Lenin in southern Kyrgyzstan on a stage constructed from two pickup trucks to anchoring the Asheville-based Grateful Dead tribute band Clouds of Delusion, and earlier, The Happy Dog. Ptasnik’s musical journey includes traveling to Central Asia with pianist Alex Kreger, where they presented music in Tajikistan with Norwegian saxophonist Mette Henriette, and recording with Moyindau—a group that blended jazz with arrangements of popular and folk tunes from Macedonia and Tajikistan. From Wyoming band rooms to makeshift mountain stages in Kyrgyzstan to Asheville’s vibrant music scene, Ptasnik proves that the best drummers don’t just keep time—they become the adaptable foundation that allows wildly diverse musical visions to flourish. Mark Rose has been living in Key West for the past 14 years. Originally from Colorado, Mark earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Northern Colorado and his Masters degree from the University of Miami. While in Colorado, Mark was a music educator for 28 years in the public schools at all levels. Mark also was an adjunct professor at Colorado College, University of Denver, and Adam’s State College. In addition to teaching Mark was a music contractor, recorded with Steve Barta, Alan Joseph, Tom Taylor’s Needlewood Orchestra, Ellen Rucker, and Mistura Bella. He enjoys performing with his wife, Roberta Jacyshyn, at the Waterfront Theater, and is grateful to Jillian to be a part of this wonderful Joni Mitchell tribute performance. Jesse Wagner was born in between Philadelphia and Allentown. He was raised in Telford, Pennsylvania. Jesse studied privately with Dennis Sandole, Ben Schachter, and Craig Ebener. He founded The Happy Dog decades ago. Jesse was invited to play with The Happy Dog at Sunset Pier in 2011. He stopped leaving Key West a few years later. Jesse plays and records with Jillian Todd under Jess and Jill.
