As a former teacher reflecting on the educators who shaped his teaching methods, the author uncovers both positive and negative influences from his past. While some teachers illuminated his path with best practices, others inadvertently imposed limitations that affected his adult life. Additionally, influences from his parents played a role, some leading to regretful moments while others were corrected later in life. These childhood experiences have impacted his preferences and choices, influencing his aversion to singing in public, lack of interest in sports, and proficiency in Swedish but not French. Despite facing adversities, the author has persevered in pursuing his own path, even when pushed in different directions by teachers and parents.
