Paul Mitchell

Paul Mitchell, originally from England, has a rich background in teaching and coaching. With over two decades of experience in international schools, he has held various roles such as Athletics Director, Dean of Students, and High School Grade Coordinator. Apart from his work in education, he also leads workshops on educational and leadership development, along with providing individual and team coaching services. Currently, he serves as a Business Management teacher at the International School of Hellerup in Denmark. (Page 4)

Coaching in Education by Paul Mitchell

Paul Mitchell shares his journey of combining teaching and coaching in the field of education. Starting from a young age, he had a strong inclination towards helping others succeed, which eventually led him to teaching and coaching swimming and lifesaving. Transitioning into the role of an educator, he discovered a passion for assisting students beyond the traditional classroom setting. His experience in international education and the IB program introduced him to a different approach to teaching, emphasizing concept-based learning and interdisciplinary connections. Through training in Cognitive Coaching, Mitchell honed his coaching skills, enabling him to better support students with their academic endeavors. Implementing coaching techniques, he found a new way to engage with students and enhance their learning experiences. (Page 5-7)
