Why MMA ? MERCANTILE MARINE ACADEMY (MMA), ESTABLISHED IN 1998, IS THE OLDEST MARITIME TRAINING INSTITUTE IN EASTERN INDIA AND KOLKATA . THE ULTIMATE LIST OF COURSES OFFRED Cruise Ship Management It consists 4 course in this i.e. BSTC, STSDSD, PSF, MEV Specially designed for seafarers working on cruise ships, combining safety and security training modules. Duration: 20 Days Basic Safety Training (BSTC) Covers survival techniques, firefighting, first aid, and personal safety to prepare seafarers for emergencies at sea. Duration: 13 Days Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STSDSD) Focuses on ship security awareness and duties for those assigned specific security roles onboard. Duration: 2 Days Crowd Management, Passenger Safety and Safety Training (PSF) Trains crew to manage passenger safety, crowd control, and emergency procedures on passenger ships. Duration: 3 Days Refresher Training for Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (RFPFF) Revalidates seafarers' firefighting skills as per STCW refresher requirements. Duration: 1 Days Refresher Training for Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques (RPST) Renewal course for seafarers to refresh survival techniques and equipment handling skills. High Voltage Safety and Switch Gear – Management Level (HVM) Prepares management-level officers to safely handle high voltage systems onboard ships. Duration: 5 Days High Voltage Safety and Switch Gear – Operational Level (HVOP) Provides operational officers the skills to safely operate high voltage electrical equipment onboard. Duration: 1 Days Engine Room Simulator – Management Level (ERSMG) Advanced simulator-based training for senior engineers to manage ship engine room operations effectively. Duration: 5 Days Engine Room Simulator – Operational Level (ERSOP) Introduces operational-level engineers to engine room procedures using realistic simulation techniques. Duration: 3 Days Medical First Aid (MFA) Equips seafarers with basic medical skills to handle onboard injuries and emergencies.
