The UN Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a recruitment initiative for talented, highly qualified professionals to ‌ tart a career as an international civil servant in the‌ s UN Secretariat‌ It consists of an entrance examination process and professional . development once those who are successful start their career with the UN.‌ Open to nationals of participating countries. The list of participating countries varies from year to year.‌ Application period typically opens in June.‌ Examination is held once a year in different subject areas, depending on the needs of the UN.‌ ‌ Interested? Scholarship Programmes‌

Here are some resources for available scholarship programmes. Some offer full scholarships, while others provide only partial funding.‌‌ Complete list of scholarships can be found in the ‌Scholarship References‌‌section on‌ the People & Culture SharePoint – UNICEF Indonesia.‌‌ Fulbright Scholarships‌(USA)‌ The Fulbright Scholarship Program is the flagship international exchange scholarship program between the U.S. Government and 155 countries. Each year, approximately 1,800 Fulbright scholarships are awarded to excellent foreign students who wish to pursue a Masters or PhD Degree in the United States. The Fulbright Scholarship Program provides full funding for the duration of the study which includes tuition, textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, and health insurance.‌ Chevening Scholarships‌(UK)‌ The Chevening Scholarships is the flagship global scholarship program of the British‌ Government. Every year, it provides scholarships to around 1000 outstanding‌ students from over 130 countries who wish to pursue postgraduate study in the UK.‌ Chevening Scholarships are full scholarships which cover tuition fees, monthly‌ stipend and various one-off allowances as well as international travel to and from UK.‌ DAAD Scholarships for Developing Countries (Germany)‌ The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides scholarships for a range‌ of postgraduate courses with special relevance to developing countries at German‌ Universities. The scholarships are specifically targeted to international students and young professionals from developing countries in Africa, Asia, Pacific Islands,‌ Central and South America and Central and Eastern Europe. DAAD scholarship‌ supports selected programmes with a variety of full or partial scholarships.‌ Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship (Asia Pacific)‌ The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) aims to‌ provide opportunities for well-qualified citizens of ADB’s developing member‌ countries to undertake postgraduate studies in economics, management, science‌ and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic‌ institutions in the Asia and Pacific Region.
