Situated 35 kilo meters from Jagd alpur, this stu nning waterfall attracts
touri st s' attention. The tou ri sts are so lost in the fascinating s hade
that they d o not feel like going back from here . Located on the river
Munga bahar, this waterfall falls on the 300 feet below the sti lted
hillside of natural structures, the natura l fountain of milk foam and
water droplets made from the fall of t he water soothe the tou ri sts.

Indravati National Park is the
finest and most famous wildlife
parks of Chhattisgarh. It is one
among the three project tiger
sites in Chhattisgarh along
with Udanti-sitanadi, lndravati
National Park is located in
Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
The park derives its name from
the Indravati Ri ver, which flows
from east to west and forms
the northern boundary of th e
reserve with the Indian state of
Maharashtra. With a total area
of approximately 2799.08 km2,
lndravati attained the status of a
national park in 1981 and a tiger
reserve in 1983 under the famous
Project Tiger of India, to become
one of the most famo us tiger
reserves of India.

bamb oo, sat and t eak. There are

grass la nd providing plenty of food

nilgai, and gaurs. T he most
com mon tree in th e park are teak,
lendia, sa lai, ma hua , tendu, semal,
haldu , ber and jamun.

ap proachable from Jagdal pu r, the
district headquarters of Bastar
thus making it one og th e famous
tourist spots of Ch attisgar h.

Initially named Gopansar, this place is now known as Kotamsar/Kotumsar because of the village situated
near it being 'Kotumsar'
According to Hindu mythology, caves are generally considered to be prominent religious locations. Many
pilgrims visit Kotumsar cave to worship at a big speleothem formation (stalagmite) in one of the chambers.
Earlier worshipers also burnt incense and camphor in this part of Kotumsar Cave, w hich polluted t he
cave ecosystem resulting in a decline of cave biodiversity. This practice was accordingly stopped by the
authorities based on a report published by the National Cave research and Protection Organization, India.
To reach the park one follows thejagdalpur, Sukma road. The cave is located around 1o km from the main
entrance of the national park.

Established in 1979, The Nandanvan mini Zoo, Raipur, is a striving endeavour
in form of a rescue shelter for animals in distress. The zoo is a recreational
hub that serves as an educational centre besides being a haven for rescued
animals. In 2008, CZA (Central Zoo Authority) granted the status of a mini
zoo to Nandanvan. It's been the paramount attraction for the people of
Raipur.
It can be visited via air, rail, as well as by roads.

MAIKAL HILLS

The Maikal Hills are range of hills in the state of Chhattisgarh India. The Maikal Hills are an
eastern part of the Satpuras in Kawardha District of Chhattisgarh, overlooking the scenic town
of Kawardha. they have an altitude ranging from 340 m to 941 m above sea level. This densely
forested and thinly populated range gives rise to several streams and rivers including the
tributaries of Narmada and Wainganga rivers. The hills are inhabited by two tribal peoples, the
Baigas and the Gonds. The hill range is very rich in flora and fauna wealth.
Apart from the scenic hills, a few protected places are located here; such as: Kanha National
Park is a national park and a Tiger Reserve in the Mandia and Balaghat districts of Madhya
Pradesh and located in the Maikal hills of the Satpuras. Besides harbouring a viable population
of the tiger, Kanha has distinguished itself in saving the endangered hard gTound barasingha
from extinction, and supporting the last world population of this deer species.
