HANDICAP SWIPE CARDS

Members, please note that you will require your handicap card when entering singles competitions. Members who are handicapped from other clubs must use the card from the club from which they are handicapped. Courtown swipe cards only can be used in the bar/restaurant. PLAYERS OBLIGATION Report to their respective Home Club, as soon as practicable, all Qualifying Scores (including No Returns) returned away from their Home Club advising the Home Club of the date of the Qualifying Competition, the Venue, Standard Scratch Score. Players are reminded that failure to report scores returned away from their Home Clubs (including No Returns), when so required by the System, is likely to lead to the suspension of offending players’ handicaps under the provision of clause 17. Members should ensure that their visitors are signed in the visitor’s book and that the appropriate green fee is paid BEFORE commencing play. Any member who plays with a person knowing that the relevant green fee has not been paid will have their membership suspended. Visitors to the Clubhouse must be signed in the book provided. A member may introduce one visitor playing with him/her at a reduced rate.

1. Correct any mistake made in checking of cards 2. Alter any competition as they see fit In the event of a tie the following system applies: 18 holes, last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1. 9 holes, last 6, 3, 2, 1. If the competitors are still tied, sudden death to decide. SLOW PLAY: For the comfort and pleasure of all players, it is mandatory that those who play slowly should, in the event of their losing one complete hole on the players directly ahead, allow the players following to go through. Players searching for a ball should signal to other players coming up to pass them and should not continue to play until those players are out of range. CLOSURE OF COURSE: The course (or certain holes) will be closed whenever weather or other conditions make this necessary. It will be done by the Greens Committee after consultation with the Captain or Head Greenkeeper. Starting times see Rule 6.3. BUGGIES: Buggies will be allowed on the course at the discretion of the Head Greenkeeper. All buggy owners must have full Road Traffic Act insurance cover and display their current insurance discs on their windscreens in order to use or store their buggies at the club. Members’ Attention Is Drawn To The Following Motion – The Adoption Of Which Was Passed

At The Annual General Meeting Of 2004: “That in future competitions anyone who does not turn up for their time on the Time Sheet is (following contact by the Competitions Committee): Disqualified for two 18 Hole Club Competitions as advised by the Committee and must pay the entry fee for the competition for which they failed to turn up unless adequate notice has been given – 24 hours for your playing partners. A list of those from other clubs who put their names down on time sheets for open competitions and do not turn up or give adequate notice will be kept and such persons shall be disqualified as above.” ON-LINE BOOKING: • Timesheets for Members casual golf will be available 1 month in advance. • Timesheets for members competitions will be available 10 days beforehand at 21.00 • Timesheets for open competitions, Captains & Presidents prize will be available 2 weeks beforehand at 21.00 • Timesheets for senior opens will be available 1 month & 1 day in advance at 21.00 Sunday competitors have priority on the time sheet up to 8.00 p.m. the previous night (Saturday). Any available spaces can be filled by non-competitors after this time. Non competitors are reminded that the competition of the day has priority on the course. PRIZES: The Club will not accept responsibility for prizes not collected within 14 days. SOCIETY BOOKINGS: Society teeing off times are limited to 2 hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays except in exceptional circumstances when timely notice will be given to members if a society is granted extra time because of numbers. Societies or Classics which include a mix of green fee players and members must provide numbers of visitors and prices will be calculated on numbers of visitors, not total numbers of the group.

Open Days are not included and the competitor with the highest aggregate of points from these competitions to be declared Golfer of the Year. Any tie arising will be decided on points awarded in Lady Captain’s Prize, if still a draw, points awarded in Lady President’s Prize. Silver Spoons: The three best nett scores. GOLFER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION:

Points in accordance with the scale outlined will be awarded in the following competitions: All listed 18 hole Singles. (Open Competitions excepted) between 18th March and 10th September. The competitor with the highest aggregate of points from all of these competitions will be declared “Golfer of the Year”. Any tie arising will be decided on points awarded in the Captain’s Prize. WINTER GOLF - HANDICAP REDUCTIONS SINGLES Winner and second of weekend Singles competitions shall be cut 1 point from their last scoring hole. FOURBALLS Winner and second in weekend Fourball competitions shall be cut 1 point from their last scoring hole. Reductions apply to all Christmas Fare Competitions from 16th September and post Christmas Competitions to the end of February. QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS It is a condition of entry to qualifying singles competitions, that competitors complete the course to be eligible for handicap adjustment.
