Preface

‫َوِإَّنُهۥ ِلُحِّب ٱۡلَخۡيِر َلَشِديٌد‬ And surely h is passionate for th e e love of wealth (100:8) The nature of man described by Allah (SWT) in this verse is as bright as the sun. This love of wealth has always been the bane of humanity’s existence. But it is also what makes life in this world beautiful. In the extremes of piety and asceticism, wealth is sometimes painted as the Devil incarnate. But this is far from how Islam truly views this magnificent creation of Allah (SWT). It is even arguable that wealth today is an important source of protection for our Emaan and Dignity. The erudite scholar Sufiyan at-Thawri once said in favour of wealth, “If it weren’t for these dinars, these kings would have used (and thrown) us like tissue paper” However, we cannot disregard the fears of the sceptic, because too much of a good thing can be bad. Sadly, it seems the Ummah is facing this crisis. Much of our education comes through social media; the hedonistic claws of capitalism are shaping our beliefs, attitudes, and mindsets as it rips out our souls

Preface

It's our responsibility as a Ummah to reframe our beliefs, attitudes

and actions according to the teachings of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (‫ ,)ﷺ‬who came to liberate us from the constraints of the destructive hegemony of Godless philosophies and lifestyles, so we can embrace the vastness of the natural life for which we were created. This collection of Hadith is a humble attempt to start a conversation in the right direction. It is part of a larger intent to compile similar treaties to reframe our daily conversations around the Prophetic lifestyle (In Sha Allah) ‫َحْسُبَنا ُهللا َوِنْعَم اْلَوِكْيُل ِنْعَم اْلَمْوىَل َوِنْعَم الَّنِصْيُر‬
