The Principal’s message

I am elated to present to you the maiden edition of our newsletter, The Mondrian Times—a publication entirely conceptualized, written, and designed by our students. This publication stands as a testimony to the clarity of thought, innovative ideas and critical thinking capabilities of our students which is a matter of pride for all of us here. Discipline, Courage, Perseverance, Integrity and Ownership are the virtues which we at Mondrian High try to instill in our students. Every aspect of our educational philosophy is centered around moulding our students into doing the right thing, having the courage to do the right thing, possessing the tenacity to do the right thing, having the honesty of conviction to do the right thing and taking responsibility for our actions so that one doesn’t deviate from doing the right thing. Mondrian High is not merely a place to gain academic knowledge or a factory to produce literate individuals; it is but a home away from home where the child learns essential life skills. They learn to respect others, adjust, be flexible, make friends, bury differences, find solutions , and most importantly withstand failure and absorb success. As we embark on this enriching journey of moulding young minds into morally responsible, socially conscious, personally confident, ethically honest and universally worthy citizens of this great nation, we seek your blessings and continued collaboration Lt Col Ishani Maitra (Retd) PRINCIPAL MONDRIAN HIGH Page 6

MESSAGE FROM

The School Captain Albert Camus once wrote: “Without work, all life goes rotten. But when work is soulless, life stifles and dies.” More than just an old author’s words, I think this is a great principle to actually stick by. Yes, without effort you cannot expect to achieve great things. But when work is done merely for the sake of being done, the situation is hardly better. Sitting through lessons just because “you have to” is of no use – not until you find an incentive to be there: some hunger, some drive. This drive only comes when you are curious, and willing to act on that curiosity to satisfy your questions. Aditya Pant SCHOOL CAPTAIN However, studying and tinkering at the expense of your passions (and vice versa) isn’t very wise either. Alongside digging deep into the topics you study, make sure you don’t neglect the other things that bring you joy – be it arts, sports, hacking, or just reading. The goal isn’t to become some studying machine, but rather to grow into a well-rounded person, with your own strengths, interests and quirks! So, stay curious and never stop asking questions – not until you are truly satisfied with the answer. And don’t stop paying heed to the things you love doing – the things that make you you. , sselluos .seid dna selfits efil ettor si krow nehw tuB .n uohtiW seog efil lla , krow t 3 Page 8
