Redesign Spring 2025 - Studio II Duration: 16 weeks 12,000 sqft Illinois State University, Normal, IL This project was a renovation of the second floor of Milner Library at Illinois State University. The focus of this project was creating a new inclusive reference area with a modern design. Applications Used: Revit, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
MODERN INDUSTRIAL Concept Statement The design concept centered around the Milner Library renovation is to modernize the space with the intention of making it more inviting for users. The goal is to create a welcoming environment that can become a central location of support and resources for the community. The design will do this by highlighting central features such as the reference desk, academic support hub, printing center, sensory suite, and reading lounge. The space will have a modern design with the use of black steel creating contrast against the existing concrete architecture. The color palette of deep reds will embrace the Illinois State University spirit to assist in the mission of creating a central hub for students to use.
