A MESSAGE FROM OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR

A MESSAGE FROM

OUR MANAGING DIRECTOR SUSTAINABILITY IS AT THE FOREFRONT OF ALL THAT WE DO AND IS VITAL TO OUR EXISTENCE AND CORE VALUES. We have set challenging but achievable sustainability targets, both internally and with our supply chain partners. We have a clear plan in place to monitor and achieve these which will benefit MGF, our supply chain family, our customers, and the communities in which we operate. As a responsible business, that works to provide shoring, structural, lifting and safety solutions, we realised that we must evolve to operate with a focus towards sustainability and the environment and put them on an equal footing to our health and safety standards. To do so, we need to have a clear plan to proactively reduce our emissions. MGF will step up and play our part by monitoring government and customer expectations, moving our business forward in a sustainable way, promoting best practices, and providing excellent training to ensure that we are participating in a better future for all. I believe that, whilst our primary objectives are to meet the requirements of our customers and to remain financially secure, we must ensure that our operational activities are undertaken in a manner that enhances our people, the environment, and the communities in which we operate. Being a sustainable business is a key part of our everyday life and is a main pillar within our Mission and Values. We have now begun our journey, with some key achievements over the last 12 months including, cascading our Road Map to Net Zero Carbon, employing an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor, and gaining accreditation in ISO 50001 Energy Management. I hope you enjoy the report my team has prepared which outlines some key areas of how we are playing our part in creating better and stronger communities, supporting the environment, whilst maintaining our core function of delivering world-class shoring, structual, lifting and safety equipment. SIMON LITTLEWOOD, MANAGING DIRECTOR AT MGF 3

BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE

In 2022, we appointed our first dedicated Environmental & Sustainability Advisor. This appointment has allowed huge change to take place in working towards our short and long term ESG goals. To promote behavioural change, we have been implementing more environmental and sustainability training across the company. This includes bulletins and toolbox talks, as well as utilising resources on the Supply Chain Sustainability School, where we have achieved gold status. To support sustainability across the company, we have appointed Sustainability Champions at each of our depots. Our Sustainability Champions have been: • Designing and creating depot gardens, which have been utilising waste and damaged equipment which prevents these materials going to landfill • Analysing the energy usage of the depots to see where improvements can be made • Promoting recycling across the depots • Contributing to bi-monthly sustainability meetings • Supporting our Environment & Sustainability Advisor Each Sustainability Champion was gifted a tree to nurture as thank you for their commitment to sustainability. 7

ROADMAP TO NET ZERO CARBON

INCREASE SUSTAINABILITY AWARENESS Launch MGF’s short term Roadmap to Net Zero Carbon strategy, outlining targets to be achieved during the years 2022-2025. Raise awareness of MGF’s continued commitment to carbon reduction and increase employee’s knowledge and their contribution to carbon outputs via initiatives and campaigns. 2022 ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT GREEN ENERGY REVIEW Produce and publish for external reporting. SUPPLY CHAIN REVIEW CARBON TARGETS Review and define stretching, but realistic, carbon targets for each MGF location. 2024 Review the supply chain regarding sustainable procurement with the focus being heavily centred on sustainability during the approval and assessment stage. IMPLEMENT ISO 50001 IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Fully review the outcomes of ISO 50001 audit with the aim of continually reducing energy consumption.
