Summary:

An opportunity for school students and parents to connect with employers offering over 300 apprenticeships and traineeships across 30 industries in the Hunter Region. The event provides a chance to engage with employers recruiting for full-time and school-based apprenticeship positions. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes for advice on applications and recruitment criteria. The program also offers pathway advice from the NSW Department of Education on combining study with the HSC and information on apprenticeship contracts from Training Services NSW.

Employers participate in programs like Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) and the Educational Pathways Program (EPP) to connect with secondary schools, providing students with insights into various industries, skills development, and career pathways. The RIEP program focuses on building long-term connections between employers and schools, offering tailored opportunities for both parties. The EPP operates in 148 government high schools across nine regions in NSW, including career education activities and additional resources to guide students towards training pathways and work opportunities.

The event showcases a variety of employers offering apprenticeships in diverse fields such as electronics, carpentry, business administration, IT, plumbing, engineering, and more. From Australian Defence Careers to companies like AGL, AMPControl, and Housing Industry Association, attendees can explore different career options and interact with potential employers. The event aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by providing valuable insights and networking opportunities for students and parents.
