attendance at this year’s Annual Sweetcorn Festival. Every year we strive to make our festival better than the year before, this year being no exception. This festival draws people of all ages from near and far. We have a large variety of activities and ensure to have something for everyone. We hope that this festival will provide each of you the opportunity to visit with friends and family, and make some new acquaintances, share your memories, and have lots of laughs and most importantly have some great FUN! I’d like to thank our volunteers for all their hard work and dedication to make this year a really special one. Without each of you we could not make this event happen each year. I personally would like to say THANK YOU! I would sincerely like to welcome you to a weekend of great fun in East Prairie, whether you’re attending the Friday night Main Street Party, Riding Tour De Corn, or attending the Festival, we hope you enjoy your time with us. We are so glad to have you here to celebrate with us. Don’t forget to get your own festival tee shirt available at the Chamber of Commerce. On behalf of the East Prairie Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and myself, please accept my best wishes for a memorable celebration this weekend and come back and visit us anytime. JACOB TRIP AND KAREN COFFER Meet Your 2025 East Prairie Sweet Corn Parade Grand Marshal: Jacob Tripp! If you’ve been to a summertime ball game, an EP school activity, a Lions Club service event, or even just a Sunday morning service at Dogwood United Methodist, you’ve probably crossed paths with Jacob Tripp. Born and raised in East Prairie and a proud EPHS Class of 2008 graduate, Jacob is the kind of guy who shows up early, stays late, and never asks for credit. Whether he's coaching youth baseball and softball, leading the East Prairie Lions Club with a shovel in one hand and a bowl of Annual Chili Supper chili in the other, or working behind the scenes to keep church services running smoothly on the tech side, Jacob gives his time generously to make East Prairie a better place. You may see him on the sidelines of EP football and basketball games with the EP Booster Club LiveStream Team — helping broadcast his beloved Eagles to the proud Eagle Nation around the country. He also serves on the EPR2 School Board and continues to invest in the future of local EP students, teachers and staff. Jacob and his high school sweetheart, Kristen, are raising their two kids, Harper and Parker, right here in the hometown they love—and East Prairie is all the better for it. In fact, you might even catch one of their cute kiddos working right alongside Jacob in his many projects — already learning how to serve their community at their early ages. We’re proud to name Jacob Tripp one of this year’s Sweet Corn Parade Grand Marshals—a small way to say thanks for the big impact he makes every day.
