The Galing Pook Foundation and Its Mission
The Galing Pook Awards program recognizes innovation and excellence in local governance since its inception in 1993. The awards aim to promote sustainability, citizen empowerment, and excellence in local governance through partnerships and sharing of best practices. More than 230 programs from 152 local government units have been recognized since 1994, emphasizing positive results, people's participation, transferability, sustainability, and efficiency in service delivery. The winners are selected based on a rigorous screening process and encourage collaborations among civil society organizations, private sector, and government agencies at various levels.
